WHAT ARE BAY OR BOW WINDOWS?

Bay and Bow windows, also known as compass or curved bay windows, protrude outward from the side of your home in a curved and rounded fashion, featuring three or more similar windows in an arc, often mixing fixed and operable windows. Because these windows are typically made up of several similar types and sizes, there is no central point to the set of windows. Popular in traditional and Victorian homes, they are typically wider than bay windows with a width that is 80 inches or longer.

WHY CHOOSE BAY & BOW WINDOWS?

Bay and Bow windows from Pella have superior strength and durability against strong wind and cold weather, but are best known for the interior space they save, especially in rooms like kitchens or family rooms, and the additional light they allow, something that comes in handy during Wisconsin’s shorter, darker winter days.

Pella Wisconsin helps keep out the elements by adding extra insulation to the top and bottom of a bay window. We also use a cable system for window installation, instead of brackets, to allow for proper adjustment and fitting.

Letting in more light to your home can do wonders for the feel of the house, your health, your happiness, and the look of your home. And these windows will accomplish this. Because they extend from the side of your home, they will also create a feeling of depth in your room and a focal point.

PELLA WISCONSIN REVIEWS

Hear about how we’ve helped tens of thousands in Wisconsin.

“Jake came out and gave us a consultation, explained the different options we had for windows. Our home has been around since the late 1800s and we definitely needed new windows! The crew showed up on time, and killed it! They were very professional, courteous of our home, clean and just did a great job! We went for a modern black fiberglass window with a big grid… and I am in LOVE!”

“Fantastic experience working with Pella, we’re so happy with how our windows turned out! I worked with Matt from the start and it was an easy process (not the cheesy strung-out sales pitches like most companies) with good communication. We got all new good work and changed some window designs, which was a big project for the size of our windows. The crew who installed them did an impeccable job and were very fast.”

“Tim did a fantastic job. He was very  honest and knowledgeable and asked what we wanted and what our goals were for the windows and the house. No upselling and he was not pushy at all. I  felt like we got a great quality product at a great price. I also feel really good about their install process which a lot of other companies do not talk about. We definitely will be calling Tim when we need more windows at this house or the next.”

BAY & BOW WINDOW FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Bay windows add value to your home. They are considered a luxury item, increasing your home's perceived value. They also increase the square footage of your home, add extra light and add to the overall beauty of the home.

Bay windows are 3 windows, an inoperable center window flanked by two windows with angular lines and it's more common in transitional and contemporary style homes. Bow windows are 4 or more windows on a curve that are more common in traditional and Victorian style homes. Both extrude from your home, so Pella Wisconsin installs extra insulation and instead of using brackets, uses a pulley system for proper fitting and the best anchoring.
