Casement Windows
A casement window is hinged on one side and swings outward to the left or right
WHAT ARE CASEMENT WINDOWS?
Casement windows give you a clear view of the outside as well as excellent airflow. They typically use a hand crank to allow you to open them outward to the side using a hinge. This gives you the ability to easily open and close the windows and let the outside into your home. But if you want to keep the outside “out” of your home, the double sash on casement windows provides a strong seal, keeping out the cold Wisconsin winter, where almost every winter there’s a day with below 30 degrees air temperature, not including wind chill.
WHY CHOOSE CASEMENT WINDOWS?
Pella has taken what was once a basic window and turned it into something revolutionary. With our award-winning Easy-Slide Operator, you have the ability to slide your casement window open or closed with the same simple motion as dimming your lights, eliminating the struggle and frustration of a hand crank. Add to that the ability to add blinds between the window panes, add Pella’s Rolscreen, and the ability to open the window 90 degrees for easy cleaning of both the interior and exterior panes, this will add the latest in window ease and comfort technology to your home.

PELLA WISCONSIN REVIEWS
Hear about how we’ve helped tens of thousands in Wisconsin.
“Jake came out and gave us a consultation, explained the different options we had for windows. Our home has been around since the late 1800s and we definitely needed new windows! The crew showed up on time, and killed it! They were very professional, courteous of our home, clean and just did a great job! We went for a modern black fiberglass window with a big grid… and I am in LOVE!”
BROOKE S.
“Fantastic experience working with Pella, we’re so happy with how our windows turned out! I worked with Matt from the start and it was an easy process (not the cheesy strung-out sales pitches like most companies) with good communication. We got all new good work and changed some window designs, which was a big project for the size of our windows. The crew who installed them did an impeccable job and were very fast.”
BECCA M.
“Tim did a fantastic job. He was very honest and knowledgeable and asked what we wanted and what our goals were for the windows and the house. No upselling and he was not pushy at all. I felt like we got a great quality product at a great price. I also feel really good about their install process which a lot of other companies do not talk about. We definitely will be calling Tim when we need more windows at this house or the next.”

CASEMENT WINDOW FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is it better to have casement or double hung windows?
Casement windows will be better for locations where you have a good view and plenty of space outside the window, you need better airflow, it may be difficult to access the window for opening, if you prefer the screen on the inside of the window or if your home has a modern style.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of casement windows?
Casement windows offer a good view of the outdoors, the ability to easily open and close the windows, a modern style, the screen on the inside of the window and excellent airflow. Pella casement windows also offer cutting-edge engineering: an Easy-Slide Operator for effortless open and closing, the Rolscreen retractable screen, built-in blinds, 90 degree opening functionality and custom manufacturing. Some disadvantages are they could offer too much airflow if placed in a windy location, they may not fit the style of a classic or traditional home and they require more space on the outside of the window in order to open.
Are casement windows available with screens?
Yes, most casement windows have a screen option that's removable from the inside. Pella's patented Rolscreen is a traditional screen that rolls up similar to a shade. It's available on select wood windows, including casement windows in the Architect Series and Lifestyle series.
